Thread veins, also known as spider veins, are small, web-like clusters of dilated blood vessels just beneath the skin’s surface. Treatments like 980nm laser therapy specifically target these superficial vessels. The laser’s wavelength is absorbed by the porphyrin in vascular cells causing the vessels to solidify and gradually dissipate. This process not only removes the appearance of spider veins but also stimulates collagen growth, increasing skin thickness and elasticity, leading to smoother, more resilient skin. For finer veins and redness, IPL treatments can also be effective.
